## The three questions that clarify most

1. **What happens if I want to change a line of text in six months?**
   If the answer involves paying, add it to the real first-year price.

2. **Who owns the code once I have finished paying?**
   If it is not yours, you are not buying a website. You are renting one.

3. **What exactly does the maintenance cover?**
   "Support" means nothing. Ask for a number of changes per month and a
   response time, in writing.

## How to read the result

A quote well below the rest is nearly always cutting one of three things: the
design is a template, you are writing the copy, or there is no maintenance.
None of those is wrong in itself, as long as you know before you sign.

One well above may be justified, but they should be able to point at the
specific line where the difference is.
